Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Assist with the intake process, including collecting patient histories, measuring vital signs, and documenting patient information accurately.
• Clinical Support: Prepare and assist during patient examinations, procedures, and treatments as directed by healthcare providers.
• Medication Management: Help manage medication refills/deliveries, update medication logs, submit prior authorizations for medications, and maintain accurate records of patient prescriptions and treatments.
• Therapeutic Environment: Create a welcoming and supportive atmosphere for patients, ensuring confidentiality and respect for their dignity.
• Administrative Duties: Schedule appointments, manage patient records, and coordinate referrals to other healthcare providers or services as needed.
• Collaboration: Work closely with psychiatric and family nurse practitioners to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
• Patient Education: Provide information and resources to patients regarding their treatment options, coping strategies, and community support services.
• Crisis Management: Recognize and respond appropriately to crisis situations, ensuring patient safety and well-being.

Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification required
• Experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in mental health or substance use treatment, is preferred.
• Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and support diverse populations.
