Stephanie M. Byers is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She is a proud 1997 graduate of the University of Maryland, earning a Bachelor of Science degree from the School of Nursing. With a career spanning over 30 years, Stephanie has dedicated her service to the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, working in various specialty areas including general medicine, cardiovascular/surgical recovery, neurosurgery, burn intensive care, coronary critical care, trauma resuscitation, flight/transport nursing, rapid response, code blue, code stroke, and acute nephrology care (dialysis).
After holding many leadership roles, Stephanie pursued her passion for mental health, earning a Master of Science degree from Maryville University, where she received top honors. During her training, she cared for clients from school-aged children to seniors, developing meaningful treatment plans that incorporate both medicinal and therapeutic approaches to achieve optimal mental and physical health.
At Black Rock Integrative Medicine, Stephanie leverages her educational fortitude and evidence-based approaches to provide sound, research-based care. Her office is a welcoming space for all individuals facing mental health challenges, with an emphasis on integrating physical health considerations. One of Stephanie’s key strengths is her ability to provide nonjudgmental care, coupled with her commitment to using sharp listening skills to truly understand her clients’ concerns. Her goal is to establish a therapeutic relationship where both she and her clients can collaboratively determine the best plan for mental well-being.
